GOBA Foundation

Chartered in 1985, the GOBA Foundation was established to provide a vehicle for community charitable operations by members of the Builders Association. The Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for organizations that help children and families in need, and is responsible for donations of over $1 million to youth-related charities and scholarship funds across Central Florida. It has a separate and distinct Board of Trustees and is a 501-C3 tax-exempt organization. All donations to the Foundation are tax deductible.

Mission

As contributing members of the Central Florida home building industry, we realize that our success is not solely dependent upon our own hard work and talents.  It is also a reflection of the dynamic community in which we live and work.  As the charitable arm of the Greater Orlando Builders Association, our mission is to provide, in perpetuity, a vehicle for us to repay our community.

Although the Foundation’s support is available to a broad base of worthy causes in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties, two specific areas of particular interest have been targeted:

Youth:  for there is no greater way to insure the community’s future than by helping a child,

Education: for there is no better way to demonstrate our gratitude than by encouraging someone else’s dream to flourish.

To fulfill this mission, the organization intends to focus its efforts through a series of strategies which will be periodically updated.

Strategy

Education/ Scholarships

Create scholarships to be used to pay for GOBA Student Memberships.

Create additional scholarships to offset the financial burden of students in Construction, Building Science, Design (Interior, Architectural, etc.) or Political Science curriculums with special emphasis to children or relatives of GOBA members.

Spearhead and manage a mentorship program within the foundation membership. Spearhead internship opportunities within Foundation member companies.

Community Service

Create a mechanism within the foundation to seek out and process requests for non-financial community service opportunities in addition to financial donations
